Official Statement Concerning Coronavirus
In view of the actual situation concerning the coronavirus outbreak, we would like to inform you about the current status of the planned Nord Stream Race 2020.
The health of athletes, guests, spectators, members and employees of participating and organising clubs as well as the entire population have absolute priority for us.

We monitor the development very closely and are in continuous exchange with all partners and official bodies.

Currently no any reliable prognosis could be made regarding the further virus spread, its successful containment and thus the normalisation of public life.

Nevertheless, we are doing our utmost to start the Nord Stream Race 2020 as planned. Sailing fortunately takes place outdoors, is not considered a mass event in a stadium, and could be carried out if the current measures were to be relaxed - and provided that the health authorities make appropriate recommendations. Furthermore, we adapt the program of the Nord Stream Race in such a way that possible health risks are minimised.
At the same time, however, we could also face the fact that the virus outbreak cannot be successfully controlled. In this case, we would be prepared to activate alternative scenarios.

We will inform all parties involved about any change in our situation assessment and any possible adjustments to the Nord Stream Race 2020 in due course.

We hope for the effectiveness of the measures taken to contain the crisis and wish for all athletes, sports fans and nations positive changes soon. Stay healthy and remain together with us looking forward to the start of the Nord Stream Race!
