Support for Young Sailors to Join the Nord Stream Race
With 1,000 nautical miles across the Baltic Sea, the Nord Stream Race (NSR) is a huge challenge and experience for each sailor. To survive every single nautical mile it's essential to be experienced in offshore sailing. But in the end, it's not all about experience – it's about passion and curiosity. That's why young sailors are so important for the crews! For the first time, the NSR organisers grant financial support to give young sailors under the age of 25 the opportunity to compete with their club for the title "Best Baltic Sailing Club"!
"I am really excited to be part of the Nord Stream Race 2019. My Finnish friends from Åländska Segelsällskapet told me a lot about the previous year. I really hope to learn a lot about offshore sailing since I've only been part of one offshore race before. But this time it's totally different: a bigger and faster boat. The fact that I'm the youngest sailor who is competing this year is a huge achievement for me. I will try to learn as much as possible so I can use my experience for other races and challenges."
